Let's analyse this riot in Hong Kong. Why on earth since for many years hawkers were allowed to sell in the streets during the Chinese New Year and not this particular one? They could make a few more bucks to help celebrating their New Year and customers could buy some cheap things (not necessary bad ones, I did buy some nice ones while I was in Hong Kong) which could make everybody happy. For Christ's sake why the police started to do something different this particular year. Think, and you don't need to think hard – if there weren't protests like the Yellow Umbrella Movement, there weren't protests by the Hong Kong University students, and there weren't suggestions to buy anti-riot water cannon, and there will be an excuse to fight future protests whether they are a peaceful one or not, the government and those fans of CY, those pro China will not have given order to curb the hawkers. Yet the police who were against the rioters became scapegoats – more than 90 casualties! What do you think CY?! Further more blame has begun to put on those who are pro-democracy.
OMG, look at Hong Kong now, the educational system is a shamble, and worst it starts at kindergarten. Then when everyone knows how important English is there came teaching in the mother tongue, does that mean if the students are not taught in the mother tongue they are not loyal to China? Bullshit! As I see it they should be taught hand in hand. Learning the mother tongue is easier but to learn a foreign language which is so popular like English needs to start early. There is no such thing as speaking fluently a foreign language means looking down on Chinese. All smart, intelligent young and old understand how important it is nowadays to speak fluent Putunghua. But kowning English or any extra language is such an important asset.
To sum up Hong Kong now has an inefficient, or more than that, a useless government; a failing educational system and an unhealthy society; so why should I live there, I'm glad I'm living overseas.
